|Anna Bon is an expert in ICT for development countries (ICT4D). She is specialized in finding high-impact use cases for ICT in developing countries.
Anna Bon is project manager of international projects in research, education and social outreach in Higher Education between VU and universities in the Global South, related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Since 2009 Anna works closely with the VU Network Institute, participating in the research program “Web Alliance for Regreening in Africa (more information here)” in collaborative, field-oriented interdisciplinary research to support local innovation of rural communities in Sahel countries Mali, Burkina Faso and Ghana.
As an ICT4D researcher, Anna gave guest lectures at various universities in the Global South: the University of Malaysia Sarawak, University of Cape Coast, Ghana, University for Development Studies, Ghana, Anton de Kom University in Suriname, Colombia, Jimma University in Ethiopia.
Since 2014 Anna organizes and chairs the annual International Symposium “Perspectives on ICT for Development” in Amsterdam.
|Fadime Kaya‘s expertise is in the field of peer-to-peer eco-system development, and blockchain as the underlying technology.
In summer 2019, Fadime will complete two masters in Science degrees namely an MSc. Information Sciences at the University of Tilburg (NL), and an MSc. Information System Science at the University of Turku (FI). She has industrial experience at Fortune 500 companies such as Johnson & Johnson.
|Hans Akkermans is an emeritus professor of Business Informatics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and founder of AKMC knowledge management. His current interest is in ICT for development countries (ICT4D).
Hans Akkermans is an emeritus professor at the Free University Amsterdam and is an international consultant. His research interests are interdisciplinary information science, distributed intelligence, and innovation with advanced information and communication technologies (ICT). He was the chair of the board of the Netherlands Graduate Research School of Information and Knowledge Systems, the scientific director of EnerSearchAB, an international industrial consortium on ICT in energy, and the coordinator of this area for the European Commission. He also is the founder of The Network Institute, an Amsterdam multidisciplinary research center for business information sciences. He holds a cum laude Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Groningen.
